New York is known for its bagels. This is a favorite stop of ours. They have crowds of people hungry for bagels, soup, sandwiches and beverages. All your specialty ordered items require that you stand in this line. If you just want bagels without schmear go directly to the back where the bagels are piled high in a display area. It's not clear to first time visitors to do this. You can purchase a small container of cream cheese from the counter area. When finished with the selection of bagels, go directly to the cashier to pay. Some seating inside.

This location tends to be more crowded, but service was fast - multiple people making bagels. Bagel was pretty solid - chewy with soft interior and crisp toasted exterior, but not mind blowing. Good portion of lox and capers. Usually comes with more cream cheese for those who love it.

Was staying at a hotel nearby and had to have a bagel while in town. Ordered the morning classic on an everything bagel and it was delicious! My husband got the BLT on a garlic bagel and that was really good too. The ordering process is a little chaotic since it's busy and there's no official system like taking a number. You just go up, tell them your order and wait while they yell out everyone's food as it's ready. While busy, the line did go fast so that was great!

AMAZING- by far the best bagel we had in NYC! (and we tried several) I got a bagel breakfast sandwich, and a lox and cream cheese on everything. Both were phenomenal. Pro-tip I learned online- the line is LONG; make your order online before walking over. It's popular for a reason and it's worth it!
